There are SO many things that happen to us in life that make us smile. Whether it is a normal everyday event or something miraculous, life definitely knows how to keep things interesting. I believe it is ALL about perspective. How we view things will literally determine our overall experience here on earth.
We ALL know people that literally find the negative in EVERYTHING. No matter what the situation is, they are pointing out precisely what the problem is. What drives me absolutely crazy about this are the folks who never present a solution to the problem; they just enjoy pointing out the flaws. There is ONE thing I know about these people…they are NOT HAPPY!
There is something deep down inside that is making them miserable. The sad truth is, life will continue to “suck” for them, if they never see the glass half full. Like I mentioned before, it is ALL about how we view things. Have you ever seen one of those drawing or pictures that are optical illusions? Depending on what angle you are viewing the image determines what you see. That is basically the point I am trying to deliver when it comes to perspective.
That being said, there are false beliefs out there as to WHAT exactly makes people happy. True happiness comes from within. WE as people really decide what makes us happy, but there is an ideology out there that is literally ruining lives. It is the chase/attainment of physical things. The belief that materialistic things will make you happy. Now, before I get attacked by making this statement, let me explain.
Physical things can make you happy, but it is ONLY temporary. There is nothing “long-lasting” and enduring about material things. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with getting physical things and being happy about them, the point I am trying to make here is that, those feelings are only temporary. Once you get used to that new material object, you mind is already bored and thinking about the bigger and better model.
I discovered this truth on my own. I know people talk about it all the time, but I guess I had to learn the hard way for the lesson to really stick. I remember thinking, “if I could just make a certain amount of money, I will be happy”. Well, i’m sure you could imagine, that when I did finally hit that financial goal, I was happy for a solid month. After that, somehow, that money wasn’t enough and I stretched out my goal to a much higher figure.
We have to live in the moment and find happiness EVERY DAY, not every once in a while. This is the exact reason why material things will never cut it. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy new/fun things as much as the next man, but it NOT where we should be finding our happiness; it simply won’t last, and we are off seeking something bigger and better within a short period of time.
To be honest, I don’t want to drag this topic on, I just want to say that WE as people must find GENUINE happiness (for ourselves) and it is NOT found in material things. It can be found in relationships, career’s, events, spirituality, etc. I just want to enforce and hit on the notion that “physical” things are temporary and should be enjoyed, but not worshiped; this will NOT make you happy!

How do you get pumped up for the week? Do you have a little routine you do? Does a certain kind of music get you PUMPED UP???
For me there are several things that get me excited about the day. Specifically, in the morning when I am reviewing my goals, this AUTOMATICALLY gets me pumped up! The reason is that I have aligned my goals with things that I TRULY want to accomplish deep down. So when I begin to review my goals, I imagine myself actually attaining/accomplishing them…which in turn gets me ALL pumped up!!!
I do go to the gym to weight train and I found that a specific kind of music just gets me motivated through the roof!!! I mean, there are times where I literally have to calm myself down so I don’t injure myself during the workout! hahaha!
Anyway I just wanted to cheer you up if you were having a bad day/week. I want to get you BACK on the right track and finish the week strong! I put a little something together I believe you will find VERY useful to finish the week on a productive note!
