I was just curious to get a feel for people wanting MAJOR CHANGE in their life…
I was in a conversation with someone and they were mentioning that they wanted MAJOR CHANGE in their life and listed a TON of reasons why. After hearing their viewpoint, I agreed with them that CHANGES needed to be made. The only problem was, that was where the similarities in thought process ended.
This person definitely was viewing the situation as something MAJOR in their minds which meant MAJOR changes ALL at once. Although, this may work for some people, this specific person made ZERO changes because the overwhelming thought of ALL that had to be done paralyzed the “action” part of this solution. I say this often, but I believe it to be true. In MOST cases, we make our problems BIGGER than what they TRULY are; that is not to make light of any situation, but to simply point out a trend…generally speaking.
When we make our problems BIG, we have to take more time to process the situation. Depending on the person, that gives them more time talk themselves out of taking action. If we consider a small problem as BIG, we think that it is going to exert MORE energy, create more headaches, etc.; so NOTHING is done instead.
Simply stated, “Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill” –Jewish Proverb
If you are going through a MAJOR CHANGE or are seeking a MAJOR CHANGE in your life, try to make a simple evaluation. First, analyze the situation to make sure you are not making something SMALL into something BIG. If you analyze the situation and it turns out to be smaller than you initially thought, tackle it immediately and don’t think about it any further. If you analyze the situation and it indeed turns out to be BIG, consider breaking it down into small steps. Break the BIG problem down into bitesize actions steps that you could conquer much easier. These efforts in accomplishing the SMALL steps will then lead to the overall accomplishment of the BIG issue.
In short, if you must go through a MAJOR CHANGE, do it in SMALL increments; one step at a time. Remember, it’s all about perspective. Do not exaggerate the importance of a problem or issue.
I hope this helps! Thanks for all of your love and support! Don’t forget to check out our TOP RATED podcast at RotatedViews.com. We drop a new episode every Tuesday morning and have been getting AMAZING feedback with all the great content/guests we have on the show!
Make Today an Adventure and Have Fun Doing it!
There are so many aspects of life to consider when attempting to live one of complete fulfillment. There are numerous things to try, people to meet and places to visit; it can be an overwhelming thought. But how do you know you are living life to the fullest? How can we DEFINITELY tell we are manifesting a satisfying life?
I recently stumbled upon a Les Brown motivational video that left me in DEEP thought. I began reflecting INTENSELY about life and immediately made a few adjustments to my own life! I found it to be SO valuable I wanted to share it with you.
For those of you who are unaware, Mr. Les “You gotta be hungry!” Brown is a motivational speaker, radio DJ, former politician and author that has been impacting the personal development industry since the 1980’s. The man has a resume that will stand against the BEST! I HIGHLY recommend you get a hold of ANY material of his because it WILL create a paradigm shift and ultimately life-changing.
With that being said, here is the excerpt I was referring to…
“Imagine if you will being on your death bed – And standing around your bed – the ghosts of the ideas, the dreams, the abilities, the talents given to you by life.
And that you for whatever reason, you never acted on those ideas, you never pursued that dream, you never used those talents, we never saw your leadership, you never used your voice, you never wrote that book.
And there they are standing around your bed looking at you with large angry eyes saying we came to you, and only you could have given us life! Now we must die with you forever.
The question is – if you die today what ideas, what dreams, what abilities, what talents, what gifts, would die with you?” – Les Brown
Ummm…yeah…PROFOUND to say the least; you can see why this left me a bit perplexed in deep thought.
So now I challenge you…when it all ends…
“… what dreams, what abilities, what talents, what gifts, would die with you?”
It’s time to take note of the things that want to manifest themselves through you. What dreams have you put aside? What talents are you gifted with that the world does not know of? DO NOT leave any stone unturned! Take the time to seriously think about this and take immediate action on your dreams, abilities, talents and gifts!
I will leave you with these two Les Brown quotes that should get things started…
“You need to make a commitment, and once you make it, then life will give you some answers.”
“You cannot expect to achieve new goals or move beyond your present circumstances unless you change. “
When it all ends…hopefully you will be able to say you gave this thing we call life, your very BEST shot!
To Your Massive Success,
It was a regular day and I was going about my work like I normally do. I have a specific routine I do daily and I was checking off the “to-do list” as usual. There was nothing really odd that stood out…
Honestly, it was relatively uneventful, but I mean, who doesn’t like a day when EVERYTHING is going your way?!?
But then…it got uncomfortable.
It was not in a negative way, but I knew immediately I was going to experience something new; and with “new” comes the “unknown”. With the unknown comes the “uncomfortable”. The truth is, I was uncomfortable, but in an excited way.
I was asked to give a presentation on a new project we were taking on and to share my knowledge/expertise. It wasn’t so much the presentation that made me feel uncomfortable (I have done many in the past) more than it was the audience and location. Without getting into too much detail, I was entering into uncharted territory and it was oddly invigorating.
To make a long story short, everything went well and I executed the presentation exactly how I wanted to. It was a unique situation that I jumped on and it was well worth it. Although it took me out of my comfort zone, it challenged me. It allowed me to GROW on multiple levels as a professional, as well as on a personal level.
What would have happened if I did not take on the challenge? Instead of growing, I would have denied myself of a wonderful experience that has paid off MULTIPLE times over!
Other things like my podcast (Rotated Views), the book (The Motivation Files), and the spoken-word album (The Motivation Files) were ALL projects I took on that drove me out of my comfort zone. The knowledge I attained, people I met and dreams I fulfilled were ALL worth getting “uncomfortable” for. These dreams were worth fighting for and being challenged was simply a part of the process of manifesting them.
There are many things that we must do in life that will require us to CHALLENGE ourselves and get out of our comfort zones. The beautiful thing about it is that you KNOW it will create a mind-shift to some degree.
“Be willing to step outside your comfort zone once in a while; take the risks in life that seem worth taking. The ride might not be as predictable if you’d just planted your feet and stayed put, but it will be a heck of a lot more interesting.” – Edward Whitacre Jr.
Whether or not you attained the desired outcome, the important takeaway is the lessons learned during the process. I think getting uncomfortable in life is a sure sign growth is around the corner.
“Move out of your comfort zone. You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when you try something new.” – Brian Tracey
We have to learn to laugh at ourselves during these “awkward” moments. Life is too short to CONSTANTLY be serious. Plus, you NEVER know what the outcome will be and “guessing” will not move you closer to becoming the BEST version of yourself.
Next time you are challenged and feel uncomfortable about the unknown, try to remember this… “The best things in life are often waiting for you at the exit ramp of your comfort zone.” – Karen Salmansohn
Starting Over: How to Establish a Strong Foundation for a New Career [GUEST BLOG POST]
If you’ve recently lost your job, you may be panicking about paying bills or finding your next position. But it is important to remember that you are starting a new chapter in life. Therefore, you want to make sure you have established a strong foundation before jumping into the next stage.
As someone who dramatically changed trajectory , I know that the prospect of starting a new career may be scary, but laying the groundwork will help ensure that your next step is more successful than the last. For a positive new career path, try the following techniques.
Think it Out
Only by reflecting on what worked (and what didn’t) in the past, can you choose a new career path. Take some time to consider what you enjoyed and what you disliked about your old job. From there, you can decide what features are necessary for you to find in a new career. You can also figure out what field your particular set of skills best applies to.
Stephen King once said, “Write with the door closed, rewrite with the door open.” When you are rewriting a chapter in your own life, make sure that you are open to advice from others. Friends, family members, colleagues, and even strangers can be
great resources when it comes to starting a new career. Draw from these peoples’ experiences while you are deciding on your future path. Furthermore, these individuals may present you with job opportunities or openings that they are aware of. So, spread the word about your search for a fulfilling new career.
Try it Out
If a particular career path speaks to you, try it out before you jump in. Get connected with a temp agency that can place you in your field of choice for a short period of time. Not only will this help you pay those looming bills, it will also help you gain experience and decide if you enjoy that field. If you find it is the path you’d like to take, you may even land a permanent job at that company. You can also try freelance work, especially if you think you’d like to start your own business. This is a relatively risk-free way to without a serious time or financial commitment.
When starting a career in the addiction recovery industry, I used these techniques to build my business. I used my sales skills to obtain funding; I reached out to current experts in the industry; and I had already tried out the field via first hand experience. I was therefore able to begin my new career, which has turned into a successful and thriving business.

“Will you look at that. Take a look at it. Just look at it…that’s all you can do, is just look at it” – Ed Bassmaster (comedian) One of my favorite skits, “look at this car” by Ed; absolutely hilarious! It’s a 5 year old video, but with over 26 million views, I’m sure you’ll get a laugh (even if you saw it already). If you have the time to squeeze in a good laugh, jump on YouTube and look this guy up; he is pure entertainment!
Anyway, this little catch phrase, “just look at it” went viral and I thought of it when this topic came to mind. I want you to sit back and think about what you have produced in life; the results. It can be the job you have, the income you are earning, the spouse you attracted, the relationships you have built, etc. Just LOOK at the product.
Now…when you think of what you produced, are you happy, disappointed, or satisfied? Most folks are a little bit of all three. I am not going to drag this onto an extremely long essay about making people feel like crap about themselves. That is not my point at all.
I simply want to help you (briefly) to JUMPSTART your life in the right direction in the FASTEST possible way. And the reason I asked you to reflect on your results is because if you do not know WHERE you are, you cannot accurately describe where you are headed. So, every once in a while you will be knocked to your knees (life does it to us all). The key is to STOP and reflect.
Learning from our experiences is what it is ALL about. Whether good or bad, we have to extract the valuable LESSONS life is teaching us. THIS is how we grow. THIS is how we progress.
Once we are able to acknowledge the lesson, we can THEN change the results. Sometimes I see people do the same thing over and over again yielding the SAME results and settle for such frustration. They blame life and everything under the sun, but fail to make adjustments. I have done this in the past myself, so it’s pretty painful to watch. So if you can understand where you are, appreciate the lesson, and add it into your mind as knowledge reserved for future experiences, you will begin to see the sparks of wisdom flare.
It is at this point you can PRODUCE something that is even MORE valuable. Your results will begin to change and manifest into items of higher frequencies. This element of excellence is a MAJOR factor to becoming outrageously successful. Humbling yourself to begin this process is where it all starts.
I want you to be HAPPY with what you are producing and believe the above tips will at least get you going. Of course I cannot explain such a complex reality of life in a small blog post, but hopefully it will get you going in the right direction; or at least REMIND you of what you need to be doing to attain GREATNESS and experience your FULL POTENTIAL.
If this helped in ANY bit, I suggest you download and subscribe to our new podcast the Rotated Views on iTunes, Stitcher, Google music or on my site JimmyleeVelez.com. A NEW episode is released each and every TUESDAY morning, so be sure to check us out!
To Your Massive Success,
When I hear about someone’s “view” I immediately think of someone standing on a balcony of their hotel room, arms stretched (metaphorically hugging the sky) overlooking a beach town. I think about all of the things they could see and absorb into their memory. I think about the fresh air they are breathing in and the ocean aroma blazing their sense of smell. I think of the sounds of nearby traffic, restaurant music and ocean waves clashing onto shore. I guess you can say, this view was a symbolic feeling of freedom.
An interesting aspect is that their view is slightly different from every other person standing on their balcony in this hotel. They are residing in the same location, but depending on the room they are staying in, the views vary tremendously.
Some folks have a view of the courtyard, some have a view of another hotel, and some have a view of the parking lot. There are also differences in views which are determined by which floor you are staying in. Obviously, the higher the floor, the opportunity of having a much broader view increases dramatically; I mean, the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong has 118 floors! That stated, there are CLEAR differences in everyone’s views.
This is the EXACT reason WHY and HOW the Rotated Views Podcast came into creation. I always wanted to have my own podcast, but between timing and content, I was uncertain about the whole thing.
My buddy Gabe and I are both very much into the personal development/self-help arena. When we would have discussions, they normally resulted into philosophical and challenging conversations. We would joke about having these conversations recorded and shared with everyone. On the other hand, I would have similar conversations with my brothers and cousins; mostly over a cigar. To top this all off, I was on a weekly mastermind call with my friend Scott which ALSO led to profound conversations about life, entrepreneurship and success.
This went on for YEARS and finally last year my buddy Scott was taking on the project of beginning a podcast for himself, so I was able to see all the things that went into the process. I was busy with my spoken word album and book, The Motivation Files at the time, but knew one day I was going to create my very own podcast.
Well, 2016 was here and it was time to get this podcast rolling. After lengthy discussions with my buddy Gabe, my buddy Scott, my brothers and my cousin Manny, I decided to MAKE IT HAPPEN! I wanted to put together a podcast that had various perspectives on all aspects of life; hence the name Rotated Views. This would give a point of view from all levels of the “hotel” and ALL types of people could relate.
That is the shortened version of the development process of The Rotated Views Podcast. I will reveal the WHOLE story in a future podcast, so stay tuned for that! I just wanted to give you a little background of why I am so excited to FINALLY release this new project to the world. We have been working VERY HARD behind the scenes and faced some challenges. The important thing is that we OVERCAME adversity and manifested this dream.
We kicked the podcast launch off with Episode 1: Can’t We All Just Get Along? Here we touch upon the importance of understanding each other, bullying and how delicate relationships really are. We then published Episode 2: Are You Aware?!?! This episode touches the deeper meaning of life and really pulls out an interesting discussion of self-awareness. We followed the first two episodes up with Episode 3: You Have To Earn It. This third installment completes our launch of the podcast and dives RIGHT into karma, the law of attraction and earning your way through life.
All three episodes are currently available on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, and TuneIn Radio applications. Download and subscribe to the podcast. We would also appreciate it if you would take the time to rate it and leave us some feedback. Lastly, let us know what you think of each episode, send comments, questions, or concerns to firstname.lastname@example.org
Again, thank you for all the LOVE & SUPPORT! We look forward to recording future podcasts and are excited to live out our dreams right before your eyes! What an amazing feeling to be doing something you LOVE!

To Your Massive Success,
Jimmylee & The Crew!
There is a VERY important message that I feel is NEEDED at this moment and I will address it here as best as I can. It is an interesting “concept” that I believe to be a “reality” that can really boost your life into TRUE PURPOSE. It is amazing to me that MOST people either forget or simply DO NOT comprehend their own power and allow life to be lived in the cesspool of mediocrity.
I want you to stick both arms out in front of your body (zombie position). Bending at the elbows, bring your hands straight back to your head, as if you were about to perform a sit-up. With the tips of your index fingers, tap the side of your head (temple area). If you were to measure the distance between your two index fingers, it would be approximately 6 inches. And it is these 6 inches that determine everything.
Remember, you are always 6 inches away from your goal. Repeat this exercise when you need that little reminder. No matter how BIG your goal, you ca attain it by working it through your mind. We give up on things more because of mental fatigue than anything else. Sure there are a few exceptions, but the overall reason for not achieving your dreams is because you cannot withstand the journey; the hurdles beat you up mentally.
Without trying to oversimplify the subject, just know that the ONLY thing separating the successful from the unsuccessful truly is 6 inches. In fact, it is these 6 measly inches that separate EVERYONE. Take control of your mind and life will unfold itself to your demands. I believe in you and pray you get hold of your brain enough to live the life of your dreams!
